ABOUT US
Summer 1999 the legendary Bober –Beaver- rafting team won gold at the world championship on the Zambezi river for the sixth time. Two years later two Bober members founded Aktivni Planet in the small town of Bovec near Slovenia’s most pristine river Soca.
Many guides at Aktivni Planet have competed in kayak and rafting. Our experience continues to grow with international races in slalom kayak, traveling and exploring new rivers in far countries, with teaching youth and with our commitment to Soca. After years of hard practise, we still do what we love - work on the river.
However Soca is not our only playground. If you cannot find your guide on the river he or she may be scratching a scale of limestone at one of the climbing crags nearby or possibly smoking dust cycling down on singletrack. When hunting thermals hanging in the glider or shimmying through a crack in the underworld they are more difficult for you to find. And please excuse the very dirty guide looking for a monkey wrench greasing his 4x4.
Aktivni Planet Technicians are without a doubt exotic. Some of us grew up in the Soca valley, others have come from the other side of mother earth. Pimples, wrinkles. In our jungle of roots and ambitions we hope you find kind, strong and skillful assistence.

SOCA
Soca river is unique. In Europe she may be the last free flowing river you can experience live. In sunny temper her emerald reflection can be blinding. From her source in the Julian Alps she has carved a windy way through steep walls and shaped rapids, channels, falls and pools, occasionally stretching across beds of gravel. The Soca Trout is the only one of its kind. Protected by peaks rising over two thousand meters, mountain goats, deer, snakes, wolf, boar and bear call her home. On a dark day she froths at the mouth. Coldflooded. She is Soca.

Between the mighty Kanin mountains and the bright Soca river lies the ancient village of Bovec. Nestled at the bottom of the sunny slopes, Bovec has life for everyone. For those who seek action and for those who want peace. Planet travellers can enjoy Alp and Adriatic climates and taste Slavic, German and Italian food. Huddle on the sheep- and goat pastures, explore webs of trails. Water flowing everywhere. Flowers pose on balconies of typical Bovec houses. Friendly shops, cozy restaurants, warm guesthouses. The gondola takes you way up. Soft landings on the airport grassfield. A sublime destination in Central Europe to find fun in winter and summer. Out of the way. Your best spare time is spent in Bovec.
