For millennia Soca valley limestone has been polished by raging water pouring down the steep spines of the Julian Alps. Mountain streams created channels, falls and pools eventually nursing Soca. These sparkling gorges offer true refreshment especially on hot summer days. We usually walk around to the top and canyon our way down following the water. Walking through the narrows, sliding cascades, plunging into basins or we descend with ropes. No reason to be stuck in a groove. Relive your Aktiv childhood in warm company.

Fratarica​

Grooved into the massive Loska Stena -Wall above the Meadow- full with features. Jumps, slides, short and long rappels. Pristine setting. Cascade Parabola is a cliffhanger. Say your prayer in the Katedrala. Good teamwork adds to the experience.

Predelnica

Winding down from the Predel pass at the border with Italy clear streams lead us on a scenic alpine adventure. In cold winters a playground for iceclimbers; now summer, we slide and jump down cascades. Magnificent views of Loska Stena, green pools and a great diversity of rappels. The upper Predilnica has prime canyoning for beginners and advanced.​
 

We hike through a bouldergarden towards the lower Predelnica. Early this century a massive mudslide rolled down from Mangart painting this secluded section grey. Occasionally a freefall feature, here we tackle many wet and fun rappels. Grand Finale is a 40 meter waterfall and we hike through the gorge down to the village of Log Pod Mangertom. Lower Predelnica is best for a canyoneer with some experience.​
 

Upper Predelnica:

          Walk in 30 minutes walk out 30 minutes. 

          Streamtime 2 to 3 hours.
Upper and lower Predelnica:

          Walk in 10 minutes.

          Streamtime 4 to 6 hours.

Globoski Potok –Stream of Depth​

Have you travelled the other canyons? Flowing down from the Southern Kanin range the steepest canyon we visit flows into the Uccea creek. The approach is gorgeous and strenuous. Today we spare our ankles and knees, no jumps.  Fortunately higher up we get good practise before we start our commitment. Dessert: descend of three vertical waterfalls each ending in a pool.  Views and vertigo. Stream deep and dream steep.​
